I think the Rules page is cut off so I'm unsure what the rules of the coloured faces are. I've never seen a physical game in a game jam before, so I'd love to check it out if it gets fixed!
Having terrible things happen to the rules is part of the design ethos of the genre. Solvers are supposed to deduce the rules from partial information and the given setups, which you can usually assume have a unique solution.
